My Creatures

They come in all shapes and sizes.

They are fun to make but do take rather a long time!  Some, like ‘the Grinch and Dobby’ are characters from books.  Others, like ET from films.  But many, like ‘Thing’ just evolved.  I didn’t have a character in mind when I started to make him.  He just kind of ‘evolved’ .  All have a aluminium foil base.  This is moulded into shape like clay .  Then it is covered with masking tape followed by papier-mâché . When dry I give the model a coat of Geso and finally acrylic paint and Plastispray to protect.

Who loves ET?

Everyone I guess!

ET was my first large papier-mâché sculpture and, apart from a few days when he has graced the steps outside, he is part of the family with his own special place in our kitchen.
