Rainy Days and Mondays …..

I love this song by the Carpenters plus it IS a rainy day and a Monday! I think I would have agreed with the sentiment when I was working. The idea of an early drive to work with windscreen wipers and frozen hands is not exactly enticing! Add to this a cold and drizzly break stood out on the school field with lots of kids who didn't want to be there either!

But, for an artist or photographer a rainy day offers lots of inspiration .

Raindrops on windows. On leaves. An umbrella dropped in a puddle. A myriad of colours dancing on a busy street. Reflections of neon lights on a wet road.

For educationalists wet weather also offers many learning opportunities.

Raindrops on puddles offer a good introduction to concentric circles. Questions arise when observing the difference between wet and dry surfaces. Colours. Shapes, Scents, noises. Such a feast for the senses!
