Start collecting!

All sorts! Collecting bits and pieces is necessary if you are going to be creating but it's important to be selective and to catogorise otherwise the house will be taken over with .... jumble!! I speak from experience here. The easiest method is to use colour. Currently I'm working with neutrals and natural materials. So my box contains things like hessian, string, wood, nuts, acorns, corks etc. I like to hang and dry herbs, grasses, garlic and artichokes. Artichokes dry really well and can be used whole or in pieces. Today I've used one to make another log planter. This log was just a sort of ordinary log offering me no suggestions, no ideas but now, using the dried artichoke and some other bits and pieces from my neutrals box, it has become a character!
